First Lander Challenge Prize Awarded!

We are so excited to share that Space Enterprise at Berkeley has won the first TVC hotfire award from Lander Challenge this Saturday at FAR — they successfully hotfired a 550 lbf liquid engine for 14s, gimbaled 13 degrees in all directions, and won $15,000!

We're delighted to have the chance to grant our first prize, out of a total of 15 opportunities that student teams will have over the next four years.
Members of the Lander Challenge team made a trip to Friends of Amateur Rocketry to watch the thrilling hotfire and celebrate the success with the team! In fact, the team also did a second TVC hotfire, and launched & recovered a solid rocket, all in that same day!
